You will serve as a LIBRARY TECHNICIAN in the Command Service Department (N1), Knowledge and Information Management Division (N14) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.

Duties

You will locate and obtain electronic resources; scan materials for electronic delivery, charge library materials in and out, shelve library materials in proper call number sequence and assist patrons with accessing online catalog and databases. You will prepare materials for library orientations, tours and instructional programs and maintain library equipment and supplies. You will inventory library holdings, edit catalog records under the guidance of the technical services librarian. You will serve as government purchase cardholder and is responsible for all purchases that require the use of a purchase card or convenience check. You will prepare recurring reports on account balances and check the accuracy of funding documents. You will be responsible for the administrative requirements of the Division which include: contract preparation and management, recording taking, record keeping and management.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Shelving library materials using proper classification system and locating obtaining hard copy resources for patrons. Working with electronic library resources to include assisting patrons with searches using library databases, scanning materials for electronic delivery, and locating electronic resources for library patrons. Processing of government funding, budgeting, and contracting, relative to command and division operations. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successfully completed four years of education above high school level.

OR

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
