This position is location in the Office of Audits and Evaluations (OAE), Office of Inspector General, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). OAE conducts audits according to Government Auditing Standards, Quality Standards of Inspection and Evaluations, or Independent Public Accountant oversight of VA healthcare, benefits, financial management, acquisition, and information management.

Current OIG Employees will remain at their current duty location.
As a Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Audits & Evaluations, you will:
Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic Requirements and Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) in their resumes; must address each Technical Qualifications (TCPs).separately.
A. Basic Requirement: As a basic requirement for entry into the SES, applicants must provide evidence in their resume of progressively responsible executive level leadership and supervisory experience that is indicative of senior executive level management capability. Typically, experience of this nature will have been gain at or above the GS-14/15 grade level in the federal service or its equivalent in the private sector.
B. Technical Professional Competencies - All applicants must show include a résumé showing how their knowledge and experience relates relate to the following technical professional competencies. You must address each TPC separately and you should not exceed 2 pages per TPC. You are required to respond to all TPCs. If you fail to do so, you will be rated as 'ineligible.'
TPC 1: Demonstrated experience in the management of a comprehensive audit and evaluation program, including developing strategic and annual audit and evaluation plans; formulating and administering audit and evaluation policies and procedures; and managing a diverse and geographically dispersed professional workforce.
TPC 2: Extensive knowledge and experience in planning, conducting, and reporting on performance audits of programs and operations in accordance with Government Auditing Standards.
DO NOT COMBINE THE TPC AND ECQ STATEMENTS. Failure to meet basic qualification requirements and address all Technical Professional Competencies will result in your application being disqualified.
C. The following Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) must be addressed in your résumé UNLESS you are a current member of the Career SES, a former Career SES member with reinstatement eligibility or an OPM/QRB certified candidate. Optionally, you can address each ECQ in a separate document.

You are encouraged to address ECQ separately and demonstrate the underlying competencies in the narrative. You should use action-oriented leadership words to describe your experience and accomplishments and quantify your experience whenever possible to demonstrate your accomplishments (e.g., number of employees supervised; size of budget managed, amount of money saved, etc.)
Applicants should use Challenge, Context, Action, and Results (CCAR) model below when responding to each ECQ:
CHALLENGE: Describe a specific problem or goal.
CONTEXT: Describe individuals and groups you worked with, and/or the environment in which you worked, to address a particular challenge (e.g., clients, members of Congress, shrinking budget, low morale).
ACTION: Describe the specific actions you took to address the challenge.
RESULT: Describe specific examples of measures/outcomes that had impact on the organization. These accomplishments demonstrate the quality and effectiveness of your leadership.
Should you choose to response to the ECQs using the narrative response, the narrative should not exceed 10 pages, be typed in 12-point font with one-inch margins. It is recommended that you include 2 recent (not older than 10 years) examples per ECQ. Before uploading into the system, ensure these guidelines are met. Documents that exceed these guidelines will not be reviewed.
