About the position: This position will be assigned to the 47th Force Support Squadron, Cactus Lane Bowling Center, located at Laughlin AFB, Del Rio Texas. This position is Flexible, guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours but can work up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. May include nights, weekends and holidays. As a flexible employee, you are not eligible for leave or benefits.

Duties

Prepares and cooks items that require little or no processing such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and fresh or canned vegetables. Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading; weighs, measures, and assembles ingredients for regular menu items; sets up and portions food for distribution and meal service, and covers, dates, and stores leftovers according to established procedures. Requirements

• This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination, and one every three years thereafter.
• This position requires the incumbent to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate and/or complete Food Handlers Training.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions, work safely, and do simple arithmetic. Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment, characteristics of various foods, and the ability to season food and decide when foods are done is required. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
