Duties
You will serve as overall coordinator of natural and cultural resource operations and programs carried out locally between Navy and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Department of Interior, State and local agencies and civic groups.
You will ensure that natural and cultural resources management objectives outlined in the Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMMP) are consistent with military mission requirements and multiple use concepts.
You will serve as the technical expert regarding the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Program responsible for interpreting and implementing laws, regulations, directives, standards and policies to ensure NEPA compliance.
You will provide work guidance and field direction to other professionals, technicians, equipment operators, laborers and volunteers conducting natural and cultural resource program work, surveys, studies and land management.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting and applying laws governing natural resources and environmental protection issues including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Endangered Species Act, and the Clean Water Act; 2) Implementing and administering integrated natural resources (e.g. fish, wildlife, habitat manipulation) protection programs (e.g. fish, wildlife, habitat manipulation); 3) Providing technical guidance to personnel regarding environmental management issues; and 4) Providing input for recommendations on environmental issues, environmental administrative matters, and environmental program budgets.

Education
Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess a degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or a related discipline appropriate to this position; OR have a combination of education and experience in one of the above majors that includes at least 24 semester hours in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or a discipline related to this position plus appropriate experience or additional education. The quality of the combination of education and experience must demonstrate possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the work of the position and is comparable to that normally acquired through the completion of a full four year course of study with a major as described above.
