About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain half way between Atlanta, Georgia and Birmingham, Alabama just off interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with Approximately 4000 employees.
Duties
Perform full range of supervisory security guard duties covering the enforcement of installation rules, policies, procedures and regulations.
Answer questions of a technical matter.
Review new and revised security regulations to determine necessary actions for Security Programs.
Serve as a Security Division Chief with responsibilities associated with the oversight and management of lower level supervisors and security guards who are assigned to physically separated posts.
Direct subordinates in the proper direction of traffic and the enforcement of traffic rules and regulations in expediting of essential traffic for prompt evacuation of threatened areas in the event of disaster.
Requirements

- This position requires a pre-employment physical and mental examination and undergo annual physical and mental examinations to ensure fitness for duty
- This position requires a Criminal History Background Check.
- This position requires new hires to pass the Physical Agility Test.
- This position requires certification for the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
- This position requires possession of a valid State issued motor vehicle license.
- This position requires successful completion and passing of a semi-annual weapons qualification test.
- This position requires successful completion of Security Guard training and annual re-certification.
- Must wear the Department of Army Civilian Police (DACP) /Department of Army Civilian Guard DACG uniform IAW AR 190-56.
- This position requires success completion of Field Training Officer (FTO) program.
- This position requires Shift work.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
- This position requires a pre-employment drug test, random drug testing thereafter.
- Incumbent must graduate from a U.S. Army Military Police accredited academy(USAMPS) (or receive a USAMPS waiver) within one year of hire.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes supervision of armed subordinates engaged in law enforcement and security work; were I project, plan, and implement staffing requirements; develop plans and procedures to provide for an adequate security program; conduct and direct investigations; conduct training, ensure training needs are met; and schedule and approving leave.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
