You will serve as a COMPLAINTS INVESTIGATOR in the INSPECTOR GENERAL'S OFFICE of CDR NAVY EXPEDITIONARY COMBAT COMMAND.
Duties
You will serve as a Hotline Complaints Investigator for NECC and accept various tasks from the IG and NECC.
You will conduct investigations into complaints received which cover a spectrum of actions that are extremely sensitive and complex.
You will produce investigative reports that satisfy the standards of timeliness, completeness, accountability and accuracy.
You will prepare replies to complaints received from the DOD IG, Congress and the Executive Branch.
You will recommend extensions, modification or new lines of inquiry as appropriate.
You will resolve issues or controversies as they arise, unless it is of significant importance where it would require discussion with the IG and Chief of Staff or Commander.
You will prepare clear, concise, accurate, and unbiased investigative reports, and draw conclusions, which are supported by technically or legally substantiated evidence.
You will participate in Command-wide self-assessment programs and conduct and coordinate on-site inspections of NECC and subordinate activities.
You will compile data from staff oversight visits/inspections, audits (DOD, DON and GAO), analyses of assessments, and special focus studies/inquiries as assigned.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
To be considered for the COMPLAINTS INVESTIGATOR GS-1801-12 position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience planning, conducting, and reporting complex investigations in a time-constrained environment that effectively addresses fraud, waste, and misuse of government resources and may be multi-jurisdictional.
Experience compiling and analyzing large amounts of data to develop relevant conclusions in a time-constrained environment.
Experience developing coherent, fact/evidence-based reports of investigation that address all complaint matters and effectively provides clear and concise conclusions understandable by a diverse audience of technical and nontechnical professionals.
Experience with NECC's organizational structure, functions, procedures and regulations to effectively provide assistance to complaint personnel and to advise command and staff.
Experience analyzing, evaluating and developing findings, recommendations, or observations concerning results of inspections.
