You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT GROUP, WEAPONS & ENERGETICS DEPT, ORDNANCE TEST & EVAL DIV, TEST LOGISTICS & SUPPORT BR
of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Duties
You will support the setup and processes of energetic tests and related systems in accordance with written test procedures, standard operating procedures and applicable publications.
You will overcome complex problems of moderate difficulty and interface with peers and Subject Matter Experts to meet test requirements.
You will design, fabricate, machine, modify, and repair energetic testing hardware, components, fixtures, structures, stands, shields, lifting devices and other test support equipment.
You will use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and other industrial equipment such as mills, lathes, drill presses, and welders.
Requirements

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DT-01 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Reading and understanding blueprints; 2) Working knowledge of written test procedures and standard operating procedures; 3) Checking and installing sensors, data lines and data acquisition systems, including thermocouples, accelerometers, pressure transducers, load cells, strain gauges, and linear variable differential transformers.

Education
Substitution for qualifying experience:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology; or (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as engineering, engineering or industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, surveying, physical science, or mathematics.
