The primary purpose of this position is: Principal Security Specialist and security advisor, providing oversight and management of multiple security disciplines (communications, information, information systems, industrial, operations, physical, and personnel security) in support of the 62 Airlift Wing's (AMC) and 57 Weapons Squadron (ACC) Special Access Programs (SAP), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Alternate Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM) security requirements.
Duties
Plans, directs and conducts risk identification and mitigation strategies for SAPs, SCI, and ACCMs.
Responsible for managing multiple compartmented security programs.
Responsible for overseeing and executing the personnel security program.
Manages, administers and develops the physical security program.
Project leader for designing Security Education, Training, and Awareness Programs and implements Industrial Security.

- Position is designated special sensitive, and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Tier 5 Investigation.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, independently analyze, andresolve difficult and complex security problems; apply policy direction to contractors and government/military officials, and develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various levels or degrees of security controls. Applying knowledge of a broad range of security program relationships, and proficiency in information, personnel, and industrial security to effectively implement and administer applicable security programs and/or coordinate with other specialized security programs. Applying knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, and eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information to review plans for proposed or new projects, organizations, and/or missions to assure the presence of adequate planning for information security and other controls. Ability to plan and carry out reviews of unit and/or contractor security programs, analyze and evaluate reports and conditions to recommend remedial actions.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Know ledge of information, industrial, and personnel security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas.
Know ledge of requirements for SAPs, SCI, and ACCM security procedures.
Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the installation.
Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
Ability to plan, organize work, and direct functions for operations for medium size organizations.
Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security for the installation.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
