This position serves as a Medical Instrument Technician (Ultrasound) for the Radiology Department of the El Reno Indian Health Center located in El Reno, OK. The purpose of this position is to provide ultrasound studies using non-ionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves for disease diagnosis. The incumbent reports to the Radiology Supervisor of the Clinton Service Unit.
Duties
Performs a variety of ultrasound studies for diagnosis and sonographic guidance to assist clinicians during invasive procedures.
Instructs patients on required exam preparation and explains methods of procedure.
Interprets a diagnostic scan and notifies physician of significant anomalies requiring immediate attention.
Performs administrative duties, including but not limited to quarterly performance improvement studies and scheduling routine equipment maintenance.
Performs digital radiographic procedures on patients as needed.
Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-09: You must meet one of the following requirements to meet the GS-09 grade level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: independently performing a variety of Ultrasound procedures including abdominal, musculoskeletal, OB/GYN, and vascular; and experience managing the technical and procedural aspects of the Ultrasound specialization; OR
Two (2) years of progressively higher-level graduate education or master's degree in a field directly related to the work of the position; OR
Combination of graduate education and specialized experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR:
Applicant must possess an ultrasound registry through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Must provide a copy of registration showing the expiration date.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
