This National Guard position is for a PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST T32, Position Description Number PDD2479000and is part of the AZ JFHQ ARMY, National Guard.
Duties
This position is located with the Joint Force Headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Personnel Security Specialist, responsible for assisting in the personnel security clearances process and supporting an Administrator/Adjudicator with suitability adjudications /determinations for the fitness and suitability on individuals for entry and retention in sensitive and non-sensitive positions required by Army. Additionally, this position will review personnel security background investigations and other source documents that determine suitability, fitness, for federal employment, and other credentialing decisions. Ensures investigative scoping items are met, personal identifying data and investigative questionnaire information is accurate and complete.

Requirements
- ARIZONA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Army National Guard, in a military organization supported by the JFHQ.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Incumbent must possess and maintain a current state driver’s license.
- Incumbent must be able to attend the ARNG Security Manager Course within 12 months of appointment.
- Incumbent must possess and maintain a top secret clearance.
- May be required to work other than normal duty hours.
- Incumbent must obtain the Security Professional Certification(s) within 24 months of appointment.
- The position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. (cont.)
- This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
Qualifications
Military Grades:
Enlisted: SSG/E-6 to SFC/E-7
Warrant Officer Candidate: WOC
Warrant Officer: WO1/W-1 to CW2/W-2
Compatible Military Assignments: Must possess 35 Series MOS
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 24 months experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career.
