Duties

Supports activities and services of the athletics and intramural sports program. Provides oversight of events and tournaments. Maintains cleanliness and organization of athletic facilities. Ensures adherence to regulations and safety procedures. Monitors condition of, cleans, and performs minor maintenance on athletics equipment. Assists in setting up for special events and sports tournaments. Assists with publicity of events and tournaments and the delivery and placement of posters, flyers, and other promotional material. Provides outstanding customer service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Must obtain and maintain a nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR and AED within one (1) year of employment.
  • A Medical Examination is required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and objects over 45 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to endure physical demands beyond normal requirements including prolonged standing and walking and must be able to work in settings where exposure to moderate discomforts may exist.
  • Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include early mornings (reporting as early at 5AM), late nights (as late as 8:30PM), weekends, and holidays.
  • The dual compensation guidelines DO NOT apply to this position. All GS and NAF employees holding Regular Part Time or Regular Full Time positions are eligible to apply for this position.

Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position. Must be able to obtain a nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED (within one (1) year of employment). This experience must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position. Highly Preferred Criteria: One (1) year of full-time work experience in the Sports and Fitness industry (For example: Field Maintenance, oversight of Intramural Sports Programs, etc.). Possession of nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR and AED. The experience and certification must be reflected on your resume and your certification uploaded at the time of application to be considered a highly preferred candidate. Applicants meeting the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official. All other applicants will be referred for consideration if the certificate (referral list) is returned with no selection.
