THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a HEALTH TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number D2077000 and is part of the KS 69th Troop Command, National Guard.
Duties
As a HEALTH TECHNICIAN, GS-0640-08, youwill serve as the subject matter expert and advisor to the commander and staff on the brigade Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) program. Interprets policy and provides procedural guidance to the commander, staff members and individual military members. Keep current on and ensures the implementation of regulations and directives. Develop guidelines and operational procedures to implement changes to policies and programs directed by higher headquarters. Research and resolves the most difficult problems and questions, including those where guidance is only partially relevant or is incomplete. Accomplishes a variety of statistical data/reports, analyzes the information, identifies trends, and makes recommendations to assist in management decisions. Conduct staff visits and provides training, guidance and assistance to Soldiers at the Brigade and subordinate units. Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.

Requirements
- NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position

- Must maintain HIPAA certification.
- May be required to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
Qualifications
Military Grades: E4 through E-7, O1-O3
Compatible Military Assignments: 42A, all 68 series
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, medical procedures, civilian medical coding, and other medical requirements sufficient to analyze available data, identify trends and shortfalls, and provide recommendations for improvement actions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have one year experience equivalent to the next lower level with experience in medical or health personnel such as audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists. Therefore, technician experience is experience that required application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of the position to be filled.
