You will serve as an ASSISTANT (SECRETARY) in the Systems Integration of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NG-03 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-07 and GS-08.

Duties

You will prepare a variety of documents, including memorandums, letters, emails, reports, spreadsheets and presentations. You will review correspondence prepared by others for content, correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and appropriate format. You will perform a variety of administrative support duties including making travel arrangements, receiving telephone calls and visitors, and ordering office supplies. You will maintain the Department Head and Deputy's calendar, scheduling appointments and meetings. You will be the Records Management Liaison for the department, establishing, monitoring, and improving clerical and administrative processes within the department, including filing of records.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NG-02 (GS-05/06) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing clerical or administrative support to include preparing, proofreading, or editing correspondence, scheduling appointments, greeting visitors, and answering phones in accordance in support of leadership or executive assistance.
