About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. Duties
Ensure tools and equipment are properly stored to maintain a safe work environment.
Observe safety procedures/rules to ensure safety of work environment.
Relocate stock based upon space convenience of handling to consolidate like items.
Apply protective coatings to tools and equipment, as necessary.
Check condition of tools as returned.
Store tools and equipment in a safe, orderly manner.
Keep accurate control logs of tools/equipment issued.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Time Limited Detail NTE may be made or extended at management discretion.
- Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years but cannot be made permanent.
- Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years and can be made permanent without further competition.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- You may be expected to travel (TDY) in this position up to 10% of the time for business purposes.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Tools and Parts Attendant without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common tasks of Tools and Parts Attendant including issuing tools and equipment to workers, ensuring tools are returned in a timely manner. I am skilled at ordering items needed for restock and conducting physical inventories of items in the tool crib. I work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who reviews my work for completion. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORTS:
Required to work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries tools and gages that weigh up to 10 pounds. May occasionally handle items that weigh up to 50 pounds. Handtrucks, dollies and other workers are available for assistance with heavier items. Frequently carries tools, parts, supplies and equipment that weighs up to 10 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is generally done in areas that are well-lighted, heated and ventilated. May occasionally work inside in areas that are drafty. Work is sometimes dirty, dusty, and greasy. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises.
