About the position: This position will be assigned to the Whiteman Accounting Office. This position is Flexible with no guaranteed hours but could work up to 40 hours a week. Employee will be eligible for the use of the fitness center, golf course, bowling center, club, swimming pools and other activities.

Duties

Performs receiving and disbursing cashier duties. Ensures proper identification is presented before disbursement is made. Collects cash receipts, cash register tapes, checks, credit card receipts, coupons, and other supporting documentation. Prepares and issues change from funds as required. Prepares bank deposits and ensures daily deposit in a timely manner. Ensures all monies are accounted for by balancing with the posting of funds placed in the activity's safe before actual bank deposit. Prepares cash reports and notifies supervisor of any suspected irregularities. Ensures the proper accounting for charge cards, sales slips, and guest checks and ensures they are included within the daily cashier's report. May assist with double-entry accrual accounting work. Examines, verifies, and analyzes a variety of documents to determine their mathematical correctness, validity, and clerical accuracy. May assist with posting documents with backup attached, codes documents, and verify posts to appropriate ledger. Must be able to drive a government vehicle in the performance of duties relating to the NAF Accounting Office. Performs other related duties as assigned. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in responsible clerical or office work which includes demonstrated ability to perform common arithmetic problems, and making change when receiving payments from customers. Must also have experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit or other processing of cash items when this includes (I) direct handling of cash items, and (2) use of cash accountability control methods. Must have experience in work which provided a basic knowledge of double entry accounting procedures and techniques; basic knowledge of procedures used to enter, modify, retrieve and delete information in an automated general ledger system. Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must have experience working in Microsoft Excel. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier one background investigation. Incumbent is required to drive a government motor vehicle in the performance of his/her duties. Must be able to provide a copy of his/her driving record. THIS IS A DRUG TESTING DESIGNATED POSITION. THE INCUMBENT IS SUBJECT TO RANDOMTESTING FOR DRUG USE. Education
