Duties
As a Public Health Analyst (Policy) you will:
Perform analysis of public health legislation, regulations, executive directives, departmental policy issuances, as well as other influential statement of policy.
Apply agency, department, and/or government wide evaluation efforts to program activities.
Develop the organizations' goals management plan as well as short- and long-range goals and objectives.
Work on coordinating budge formulation activities for the organization by working with contacts in the program, the organization's resource management office as well and with contacts outside the organization.
Develop timely and complete response to Department of Health and Human services (DDHS) and others and ensure consistence with organization and DHHS policies.
Manage linkage and relationship with a variety organization including national, state and local organizations as well as other Federal agencies.

Minimum Qualifications:
For GS-11:
To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level, which must include the following experience: providing input on the development, monitoring, implementation, and evaluation of public health policies.
OR
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related in public health or other field of study with course work directly related to the work of the position to be filled.
OR
A combination of experience and education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
For GS-12:
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, which must include the following experience: serving as a analyst in developing, monitoring, implementing, and evaluating public health policies.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Promotion potential: Promotion to the next grade level is at management's discretion and is based on your meeting qualifications and time-in-grade requirements, demonstrated ability to perform the higher-level duties, the continuing need for the higher-level duties, and administrative approval. Promotion to the next grade level is not guaranteed and no promise of promotion is implied.
