Duties

Provide updates to the organization to include changes in budget, delays to meeting deadlines, and recommendation of necessary corrective actions. Conduct final inspection of work to determine if equipment meets manufacture standards. Perform inspection of weldments completed by subordinates in accordance with specifications. Monitor metal work conducted to ensure the quality of work in is compliance with quality assurance specifications. Ensure quality of metal work is processed in compliance with Quality Assurance specifications. Promote use of proper safety procedures to all subordinates.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
  • This position is subject to Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel up to 10%, and may be subject to (TDY) on short notice.
  • Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years.
  • Time Limited Detail NTE may be made or extended at management discretion.
  • Temporary reassignment may be made or extended at management discretion.
  • Position may be converted to permanent without further competition if an authorized space becomes available.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Must be able to successfully complete the Civilian Education System Course within 12 months of being assigned.
  • Must be able to successfully complete the Supervisory Development Course within 12 months of being assigned.
