This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resiliency and well-being of Soldiers and Families. Duties

Serves as Automotive Detailer performing duties independently or as a member of a work crew in an auto craft shop. Makes minor cosmetic repairs to vehicles. Loads and unloads supplies; moves materials using hand trucks or dollies; stacks and arranges supplies for storage; collects refuse and recyclable materials. Reports facility condition to supervisor including the need for repairs. Mows grass, trims and edges walkways and lawns. Shovels snow from walks and driveways.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with Army Regulation 215-3.
  • This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
  • An employer referred pre-employment physical examination is required.
  • Must be willing to accept part-time employment.
  • Must be physically able to stand, walk, bend and kneel for lengthy periods.
  • Must be physically able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be physically able to push heavy items on dollies, loaded carts, hand trucks, etc.
  • Management reserves the right to reassign employees to other facilities.
  • Work schedule will be irregular. The incumbent will be required to work, nights, weekends, holidays and/or special events.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess the following: a minimum of three (3) months experience working as an automotive detailer (length of experience must be clearly defined on your resume), AND know how to use simple power equipment and hand tools (e.g., lawn mowers, leaf blowers, edges and trimmers, scrubbers and buffers, steam cleaners and vacuums etc.), AND know how to maintain and perform routine maintenance (e.g., cleaning lawn mowers, oiling parts on power equipment etc.), AND ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds (without assistance).
