THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a INSPECTOR GENERAL, Position Description Number PDD2899000 and is part of the WY 153rd Airlift Wing, Wyoming Air National Guard.
This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is required.
Duties
To exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the wing Inspector General (IG) office. Serves as the Inspector General (IG) and is required to demonstrate a substantial breadth of experience, exceptional maturity, and demonstrated sound judgment. Responsibility to independently review and oversee Department of Defense (DoD), Air Force (AF), and Wing programs to determine compliance with laws, guidelines, and objectives. Provides technical guidance, advisory support, policy, and direction for programs such as the Inspection System; IG Investigations; Complaints Resolution Program; Whistleblower Reprisal; Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) Program; Strategic Plans and Programs; and the Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP).

Qualifications
AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:
Area 1: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ANG employees assigned to the 153 AW.
Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (ANG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard.
Area 4: All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard.
Area 6: Current and prior service military members to include the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Must possess experience, education, or training which provided skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; knowledge of applicable laws, directives, regulations, policies, and procedures; skill in interpersonal communications, empathy, and effective listening; ability to organize thoughts, research materials, and manage case projects; skill in comprehending and interpreting directives and laws; ability to enunciate without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit effective communications; ability to write reports and presentation formats; and ability to communicate -orally and in writing- clearly and effectively.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must possess at least one-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-12). Knowledge of the functions of the Inspector General and functional interrelationships among command missions, programs, systems, procedures, and activities; plus, the regulatory framework in which they operate, to develop and implement command-wide policies, programs, and procedures, and develop strategies for handling varied complex issues such as congressionals, Fraud, Waste, and Abuse complaints, IG complaints, and allegations against senior officials; knowledge of investigative techniques, principles, and procedures to direct or conduct investigations of allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse or other complaints of wrongdoing or inappropriate behavior on the part of Federal and State activities; and knowledge of the mission, functions, programs, policies, structure, and operational capabilities of the wing/delta in order to oversee and direct the multifaceted exercise and evaluation program and determine unit effectiveness and sustainability through internal and external audits, reviews, exercises, and analyses.
NOTE: General and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g., 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar - 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.
COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS:
Must possess or be eligible to retrain into AFSC 87G0, Wing Inspector General.
DRIVER'S LICENSE:
Must possess a valid driver's license.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee must complete the wing Inspector General Training Course Inspections (IGTC-I) within 180 days of appointment; complete Inspector General Training Course Complaints Resolution (IGTC-Q) within 180 days of appointment; and it's recommended to complete the NGB/IG Advanced Course within one year of appointment.
