About the position: This position will be assigned to the Langley Lanes on JBLE-Langley AFB, VA.
This position is guaranteed 0 hours per week but can be scheduled for up to 40 hours per week.
The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of limited maintenance work within a bowling facility.
Duties
Cleans, oils, and polishes the bowling lanes and lane approaches adhering to established standards. Sweeps, dusts, and cleans other areas of the bowling facility. Collects and removes trash. Maintains all areas in a clean and orderly fashion. Hand sands and varnishes minor flaws in lanes until surface can be conditioned.
Makes minor corrective adjustments to bowling lane machinery as necessary and performs periodic minor preventive maintenance on automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment.
Maintains stock levels and records on spare parts for automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment. Advises bowling facility management of unusual maintenance problems.
Physical Effort:
Heavy physical effort is required in frequent lifting and moving objects weighing over 50 pounds, and in using heavy hand tools and operating equipment.
Working Conditions:
Works indoors in areas that may be dusty, drafty, and noisy. Special care is required to avoid serious injuries. Requires caution in working with moving parts during operation of equipment.

Requirements

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience or training in the maintenance of bowling lanes and experience which demonstrated the ability to operate, control and clean heavy powered equipment. Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical . Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position dose not allow for education substitution.
