This position is located at Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park, in the Maintenance Division.
Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.
Duties
Assist in the maintenance, repair, and restoration of structures and surfaces constructed of stone.
Assist higher-graded employees in the preparation of test mixes and prepares amended and unamended mortars according to specifications.
With minimal direct supervision, remove damaged portions of walls, partitions or other similar structures in preparation for repair.
Cap, replace, grout, and reinforce walls/portions of walls, with close supervision, so that the repaired portion closely matches the original, undamaged portions of the structure.
Load, unload and haul cement, soil, stone, tools, and equipment, stack and handle stone building materials and supplies to job site.
