This position is located in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Program Operations and Local Engagement (OPOLE), Strategy & Business Operations Group (SBOG). As a Supervisory Program Manager, GS-0340-14, you will provide leadership and technical authority to direct staff who deliver a wide range of operation support services within CMS, including facilities management, budget execution, travel administration and operations planning.

Duties

Manages staff who provide complex administrative services that impact the management of shared business operations’ processes, budget, personnel, facilities, space and logistics for OPOLE and CMS components. Develops policies and provides policy direction on management, coordination, and support for OPOLE business services, including staff development, awards and recognition, and management of travel, space, training and other business resources. Provides technical guidance and assistance to employees and management on a full range of administrative functions necessary to the efficient and economical operation of the CMS locations. Provides input and recommendations to the Group Director on issues associated with ongoing operations. Oversees the implementation of facility and real property management and general services functions.

In order to qualify for the GS-14, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Managing or administering an organization's operational support services such as administrative functions, facilities oversight, financial management, time and leave, personnel management and related analytical activities, procurement planning, and daily operations; 2) Serving as a lead in prioritizing, coordinating, reviewing work, and providing technical guidance; AND 3) Making decisions or recommendations to improve organization's business operations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current or former Federal employees and current or former Federal employees applying under the VEOA eligibility who hold or have held a permanent General Schedule position in the previous year must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
