About the Position: This position is serving as Security Specialist working on a variety of major security programs for U.S. Army Materiel Command, DCS G-3 for Operations, Operation and Readiness Directorate, Protection Division, on Redstone, Arsenal, Alabama.
Duties
Participates as a member of the HQAMC Force Protection Assessment Team in the performance of higher headquarters assessments, compliance inspections, force protection training, and staff assistance visits of AMC installations.
Reviews security operations, assessments, procedures, and security plans /documentation to assist AMC organizations and activities to properly assess the status of these areas.
Provides support for the AMC Force Protection program by collecting, analyzing, and organizing information on security activities, progress, and resource utilization, and in the development and implementation of security operational guidance.
Following established guidelines and in accordance with HQAMC policies, procedures, directives, and regulations, plans, develops, recommends, and implements AMC security operating procedures to AMC organizations.
Functions as assistant to the HQAMC Antiterrorism Officer. In the absence of the Antiterrorism Officer, attends meetings and/or briefings related to Force Protection issues.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security / Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) Clearance.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening and random testing thereafter.
- This position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential".

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Developing anti-terrorism/force protection (AT/FP) guidance and/or regulations; 2) Conducting higher headquarters vulnerability assessments; 3) Conducting AT/FP planning; 4) Implement AT/FP policies; AND 5) Managing Program Objective Memorandum (POM) processes for antiterrorism funding.The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
