This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, in the Center for Excellence. As a Training Specialist, you will be responsible for handling the day-to-day experience of new hires as they transition from new employee orientation through training to full job performance.

Duties

As a Training Specialist, you will: Provide authoritative guidance to the leadership team regarding needs assessments and training initiatives to meet requirements of assigned positions. Initiate training program planning, curriculum development, conducting training and learning program continuous improvement. Design and develop instructional strategies, instructor guidelines, training courses and/or development programs, training products, documentation, and ad hoc deliverables in a timely manner for employees in craft and non-craft roles with key subject matter interfaces. Handle timely and accurate maintenance of student records and entry of attendance, assessment, goals and other data as needed. Facilitate trainings/classes; conduct training; schedule speakers to conduct technical or job-specific training (if required); create innovative approaches and ideas for sustaining and improving learning and development across the BEP.

Requirements

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes experience: Developing/implementing new training program methods and processes; AND Designing, executing, and monitoring individual development plans for employees; AND Providing guidance to a team regarding training needs assessment. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
