About the Position: The U.S. Army Contracting Command was established on March 14,2008. The mission of the Army Contracting Command is to oversee more than $85 billion in contracts annually and focus on maintaining and improving the Army's ability to respond globally in support of the warfighter's needs.

Duties

Serve as the lead negotiator and chief of the negotiation team for high-dollar value and/or critical negotiations and negotiates an agreement on these actions. Review and approve the cost price analysis and makes the final determination of price reasonableness. Serve as a team leader responsible for the overall efficiency of a technical team organized along functional lines. Perform acquisition planning and acquisition strategy development. Provide procurement package input. Perform complex pre- and post-award functions including administration and closeout/termination. Validate solicitation and negotiation of contracts.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly.
• This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Contracting Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty.
• Must file financial statement.
• This position requires the incumbent to perform duties with use of an unlimited Contracting Officer warrant. Candidates must be eligible for and satisfactorily pass a Class IV Contracting Officer Warrant Board prior to appointment.
