Duties
You will Performs or advises on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration.
You will formulate of budget and cost estimates to support plans, programs, and activities, including presenting and defending budget estimates before authorities.
You will review and evaluate budget requests, control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures.
You will develop, determine and interpret budgetary policies and practices.
You will have comprehensive, detailed knowledge and understanding of budgetary policies, precedents, procedures, and regul
You will research guides to locate accounting, budgetary and financial information and prepare summaries.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing or assisting in any of the phases or system of budget administration, fiscal, accounting, or financial management to support the plans, programs, and activities including presenting and defending budget request, control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures and helping with government purchase card programs for Defense Travel System (DTS).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
or
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
