This National Guard position is for a HR Specialist, Position Description Number T5910500 and is part of the New Jersey National Guard Human Resources Office. This is a Title 5 Excepted Service vacancy announcement. Qualifications

General Experience: Experiences gained through civilian and/or military technical training schools within the human resources business programs are included as general experience qualifications. An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. Specialized Experiences: GS-0201-07 Positions (Entry) Should have at least three months of a basic knowledge and working experience in personnel programs gained as a volunteer, in a classroom, or as a trainee. Have basic knowledge competency of human resources business elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, merit principles, and issues related to this competency. Experienced in using reference and resource materials and experienced in program functions such as, maintaining personnel records, counseling, or classification and assignments. Experiences may include performing personnel functions associated with preparing and maintaining position descriptions and manual records, personnel classification or usage, quality force management, managing personnel records and researching record data. Experienced in operating a computer, utilizing multiple computer programs, and performing keyboard functions. Must have at least three months experience, education, or training which provided a basic working knowledge of personnel programs.

A high school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma is required. An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university is desired. A graduate degree from an accredited civilian academic college or from an equivalent professional military
