Duties

The position is responsible for public contact in providing clear and accurate information to the public orally, in person and on the phone, as well as in writing which may occur in letter or email formats. This position is responsible for accurate and consistent filing and research of records. These records may include department files, directives, financial information, written correspondence, etc. The position will be responsible for collections as related to receiving and preparing accurate receipts, records associated with any financial transactions, deposits, and tracking to adhere to Dept. of Treasury guidance and instruction. The position will be responsible for a variety of administrative efforts for the office including the preparation of travel authorizations, coordinating building access efforts, coordinating with contractors, timekeeping and travel, etc.

Qualifications

In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the qualification requirements - please be sure to include this information in your resume. GS-04: You must possess one (1) full year of general experience at or equivalent to the GS-03 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Using a PC to process a wide range of documents, such as graphics and tables. Updating and revising databases or spreadsheets. Working in Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. Recognizing discrepancies and correcting or questioning originators in such matters as improper formatting and missing information. Providing customer service and/or serving as a receptionist. -OR- Education: 2 years above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the prerequisite. - OR- An equivalent combination of experience and education described above Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Physical Demands: The work is typically sedentary. Some work may require periods of walking, standing, bending, or driving a motor vehicle. The incumbent may frequently lift relatively light boxes, materials, and supplies and/or carry file folders, copied materials, books, and other similar materials. Work Environment: Work is typically located in an adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated office environment. The work environment may involve everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, mail distribution centers, meeting and training rooms, libraries, or motor vehicles.
