You will serve as a BIOLOGIST in the FLEET ENVIRONMENTAL READINESS DIVISION of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET.

Duties

You will manage the conservation program. You will conduct annual program objectives memorandum reviews and budgeting for current and future conservation projects. You will lead preparation and submission of monitoring and compliance reports.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-13) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Biologist planning and managing a environmental conservation program to include collaborating on the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process; reviewing policy in such areas as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Executive Order 12114, Clean Water Act, and the Migratory Bird Treaty; and monitoring environmental compliance for programs impacting Navy training/operation areas (OPAREAS) throughout the Pacific and corresponding areas of responsibility. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess
  1. Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

    or

  2. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
