This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. Duties

The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART), to serve as a weapons expediter for all weapons flight line maintenance activities which includes, but not limited to monitoring schedule changes and directing work priorities. In addition, provides training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein. DUTIES: 1.Manages all munitions loading and armament systems maintenance operations to include monitoring the safety of flightline and back shop operations. 2. Performs work direction responsibilities. 3. Responsible for the quality, quantity, and timeliness of work performance. 4. Ensures education in, compliance with, and practice of security directives, good safety, and health habits in all work areas. 5. Plans and conducts training of reservists and other employees.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-6600 ARMAMENT WORK FAMILY. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is the ability to perform the work of an AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC with little or no supervision. JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. 2. Skill in the use of standard hand and power tools of the electronics and electro-mechanical trades. 3. Ability to read and interpret a variety of technical data such as schematic diagrams, blueprints, and technical orders relating to the electronics and electro-mechanical trades. 4. Comprehensive knowledge of operation, capabilities, and limitations of complex electronic systems complicated by a variety of multi-component assemblies and devices. 5. Knowledge of related electronic, electrical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. 6. Ability to remove, install, modify, repair, maintain, test, calibrate, and troubleshoot complete electronic or electro-mechanical systems. Other significant facts pertaining to this position are: (1) This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) enlisted position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow the incumbent to fully participate in Unit Training Assemblies (UTA) weekends. The incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, the incumbent may also be assigned non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. (2) The incumbent must obtain and retain the appropriate security clearance level designated for the position. (3) This is a testing designated position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing. (4) This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. (5) The incumbent may be required to fly in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments (TDY) away from the normal duty station. (6) Incumbent may be required to secure a valid state, commercial driver's license with hazardous materials endorsement to perform expediter/dispatch duties. (7) The incumbent may be required to work overtime to meet workload demands. May be subject to shift work and uncommon tours of duty. (8) Performs other duties as assigned. Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously. Near vision correctable at 13 inches to 16 inches to Jaeger 1 to 4. Far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and 20/40 in the other. Both eyes required. Depth perception. Ability to distinguish basic colors. Ability to distinguish shades of color. Hearing (aid permitted). If it can be otherwise accommodated, a specific physical condition or impairment will not automatically disqualify a candidate. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:Works inside and out, in inclement weather, on wet slippery, hot/cold ramps, aircraft surfaces and work stands. Subject to the dangers from exposure to toxic fumes, fuel, high pressure air and fluids, electrical shock or burns caused by electrical or RF energy. Dangers also include engine noise, blast, and ingestion, fast actuating metal surfaces such as landing gears, speed brakes, and flaps. Will be required to transport, assemble, load, arm, or safe any assigned munitions, explosive device, or assembly up to and including class 1 explosives. May be subject to the hazards related to the removal or disassembly of explosive devices or subassemblies from explosive laden aircraft. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
