Duties
Incumbent serves as an IT Specialist with the Network and Telecommunications Services Local (LAN) Management Branch.
Serves as Technical Expert implementing and managing DLA’s Local Area Network (LAN).
Responsible for analyzing network requirements and maintaining network architecture.
Configures, creates, secures, and maintains wired and wireless LAN management equipment and networks.
Develops testing criteria and procedures.
Participates in the development of system policies and procedures.
Implements and troubleshoots 802.1x EAPOL.
Responsible for IP Address Management for IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
Configures, manages, and troubleshoots 802.1x, DHCP, and DNS in wired/wireless LAN.
Manages NIPR/SIPR network support and ticket resolution.
Supports/maintains networks utilizing various Network Management Tools.

Qualifications
To qualify for an IT Specialist (NETWORK), your qualifications must include:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut- off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Troubleshooting complex technical issues involving wireless/wired networks, DHCP, DNS, STP, DOT1x, and other Layer-2 technologies.
Identifies and resolves network issues proactively.
Builds, secures, and maintains network equipment and systems.
Plan, implement, track, and report on the performance of ongoing projects in a timely manner.
Plan for, test and install, network software and hardware components, upgrades and fixes.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
