This position is located in the Office of the Director at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud, MN.
Duties

Providing administrative support by carrying out and coordinating daily activities;
Receiving visitors, phone calls, and correspondence;
Answering questions and providing information on office policy and procedures;
Managing calendars and schedules by establishing priorities and scheduling, re-scheduling, and refusing appointments/meetings;
Reviewing documents and correspondence for completeness, accuracy, and signature;
Interpreting instructions and establishing action required;
Flagging, tracking, and addressing action items;
Researching and collecting information to make presentations and create reports;
Maintaining time and attendance records;
Preparing meeting agendas and taking meeting minutes;
Composing correspondence;
Performing related duties as required.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Qualifications
TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the ability to type 40 words or more per minute. ~AND~
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GS-07: Do you have one year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in Federal service. Specialized experience includes: performing clerical duties in support of an office; receiving visitors and telephone calls to the office; scheduling appointments; maintaining files; typing correspondence; and utilizing office automation software. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work of this position is primarily sedentary, although there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as papers and books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, libraries, and residences such as the use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
