This position will be assigned to the Air Force Service Center at Port San Antonio, TX.
This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.
Duties
Conduct Program Management Reviews and site visits as required by the Aero Club Program Manager. Program responsibility to assure that Aero Clubs meet Federal Aviation Regulations with respect to maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration programs. Prepare written inspection reports with recommendations for improvement of maintenance processes and procedures. Assess health of individual aircraft and make recommendations for replacement of aircraft. Develops maintenance program requirements for published Aero Club Maintenance guidance. Evaluate total fleet utilization of Aero Club Program Aircraft and make recommendations to Aero Club Program Manager for improvement. Assures on a continuing basis that assigned organizations are properly and adequately organized, staffed, and equipped; have and conduct an adequate training program, including an acceptable record keeping system; and have facilitates and procedures that meet all regulatory requirements. Analyzes maintenance trends and provides written correspondence or conducts briefings for installation commanders or Aero Club Managers. Provides verbal and/or written technical assistance to installations and Aero Club programs. Develop centralized maintenance program to track replacements, overhauls or repairs of major aircraft components. Develop and maintain a physical inventory and/or virtual centralized repository for removed serviceable equipment and parts. Develop processes and procedures for the use of digital aircraft logbooks. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires the incumbent must be a U.S. Citizen or a Legal U.S. Resident for a minimum of 3 years.
- Travel may be required by either commercial or military aircraft in the performance of temporary duty or training assignment to locations both CONUS and OCONUS.
- May require a valid passport for OCONUS travel.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Qualifying Experience:
Must possess FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate with Inspector Authorized rating. Prior experience with Aero Club maintenance procedures. Possess the experience and certifications in order to interface and maintain compliance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and USAF on all issues relating to maintaining and operating general aviation aircraft IAW applicable policy, guidance, and regulations. Experience with planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance management activities, providing guidance or direction to individual Aero Clubs. Experience evaluating the performance and efficiency of Aero Club maintenance operations. Experience with a wide range of principles, concepts, and techniques to implement new Aero Club maintenance procedures.
