Duties
Receives and reviews a variety of material to be processed and published as author's, initial, final, and signature draft publications and final electronic files/approved final draft within established timelines.
Serves as an Editorial Assistant, edits doctrine literature in various stages of production for publication and researches, develops, and maintains internal administrative documents related to the doctrine development process.
Conducts word-for-word proof of final electronic files of each manual prior to submission to the Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate (CADD) for release and once released forwards to the Army Publishing Directorate for publication.
Reviews historical files, eliminates duplications, organizes, scans, and archives historical documents related to doctrine development, DCDD projects, concepts and requirements, development of Army Medical Department (AMEDD) organizations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience serving as editorial assistant, administrative assistant, utilizing computers to compose, edit, and reconstruct correspondence, graphs, and presentations, serve as Security point of contact, travel credit card coordinator and time card point of contact. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position Editorial Assistant (OA). (Must attach copy of transcripts)

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. (Must attach copy of transcripts)
