Duties
Serves as a Director of DFAS Cleveland Customer Care Center. Directs, coordinates, and oversees assigned work operations through the use of subordinate supervisors and team leaders.
Establishes and monitors internal control systems to identify problem areas and determine actions required to improve operating program effectiveness.
Expertly interprets, analyzes, and adapts policies, statutes, regulations, guidelines, procedures, and processes necessary to effectively manage CCC projects and meet organizational goals and objectives.
Monitors workload, production reports and trend analysis as needed to keep executives and senior management abreast of performance goals and accomplishments.
Represents the Director, Finance Operations, the designated DFAS Site Director/Deputy Director, and the Deputy Director, Operations, on complex and critical response issues and impending customer focused agency initiatives.
Ensures that DFAS programs and policies are implemented in accordance with agency goals and objectives and are consistent with the management objectives of the Director.

Qualifications
This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense via delegated authority by the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Applicants MUST have related financial experience AND/OR a related financial degree (examples include: Finance, Accounting, Management, Actuarial Science, or related), in addition to meeting Office of Personnel Management (OPM) minimum qualification requirements.

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS13 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: Providing leadership to a customer care/service operation within a financial management organization.
Examples of qualifying experience include: Providing expert analysis and assessment of the organization's highest visibility initiatives or projects; in-depth experience with customer care/service operation and financial systems; directing, coordinating, and overseeing assigned work operations using subordinate supervisors and team leaders; integrating financial management programs, processes and systems; providing advice and recommendations to senior managers regarding issues impacting financial management processes and functions; and participating in developing agency-level financial management standards, policies and procedures to ensure efficient delivery of services.
