This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will control or eradicates pests common to the installation and surrounding area. You will check for visual evidence of pests, such as ants, bagworms, certain birds, caterpillars, fleas, flies, lice, mice, moles mosquitoes, rats, roaches, silverfish, spiders, ticks and wasps. You will mix general and restricted use chemicals and mediums according to strict guidelines, and apply then to appropriate areas. You will bait and set trap and repellents for control of rodents and certain bird pests. You will conduct treatment schedules, procedures, and methods to be followed are specified in detail by a supervisor or higher grade employee. Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You must be certified and licensed as a Pest controller by the State of California.
  • You must possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You are required to obtain and maintain a California driver's license within ten days of entrance of duty, (EOD).
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination, in addition to annual physical examinations.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Frequently lifts materials weighing over 50 pounds and carries chemical so9lutions and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds for extended periods.
  • Often works in cramped and inconvenient surrounds requiring work in tiring and uncomfortable positions and frequently bends, crawls, climbs, and movers equipment and furniture.

Qualifications

Tasks include: Work from work orders or inspection schedules, inspects various buildings an areas, such as offices, shops, improved and unimproved grounds, drainage ditches, and garbage collection and disposal sites.
