Duties

Assumes operational control of the entire test mission during the test execution phase. Conducts research on medical automated information systems, technology, or medically related software by performing independent operational test and evaluation, to gain knowledge regarding the use and maintenance of the systems being tested. Monitors, compares, and analyzes incoming information with respect to requirements, technology, and safety. Analyzes test results and provides recommendations for the appropriate approving official on the software/programs/equipment tested. Cultivates innovative procedures and channels of communications to gather information on highly complex/unique equipment and unusual problems. Develops and maintains test environment. Plans, develops, implements, and analyzes a comprehensive set of measurement instruments that define and track value added activities, costs, and outputs. Develops and maintains customer surveys and baselines of matrix data.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
• Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
• This position may require the incumbent to work weekends and/or holidays.

Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Develop and update plans and procedures related to operation and maintenance of network and data communications regarding Medical Devices which support installation and other supported activities. Provide Technical Expert for hardware, software, data storage, network capabilities, and Contracting manager as a Contracting Office Representative. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
