You will serve as a MACHINIST in the Production Resources Department, Shop 084, of PSNS and IMF, San Diego Detachment.

Duties

You will determine the machine and tools best suited for work assignments. You will set up appropriate machine and related equipment to perform desired operations. You will align and secure work pieces on bed, turntable, or face-plate of machine. You will establish reference points and lying out work pieces using surface places, precision blocks, scales, dividing heads, and similar devices to provide a means of locating points and surfaces during machining operations.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Must be able to do arduous work such as lifting, carrying, and setting up equipment and components that weigh up to sixty (60) pounds.

Qualifications
