This position is located in the Division of Radiological Safety and Security, Response Coordination Branch, in Arlington, TX.The supervisor is Mark Haire.This position is Non-Bargaining Unit.This position IS subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure reporting requirements.This position IS subject to security ownership restriction reporting requirements. Duties

The successful candidate will perform the full range of the Senior Intelligence Specialist duties.Such duties include but are not limited to:1. Analyzes and assesses complex and diverse threats against NRC licensed materials, activities or facilities to determine credibility, seriousness, and immediacy of hazards, makes recommendations to NRC Emergency Officers or senior NRC management via the NRC Information Assessment Team (IAT) and provides continuing scrutiny of events to assure properresolution.2. Serves as the primary Region IV member of the NRC IAT, providing a thorough analysis and assessment of the significance and credibility of received threats3. Performs thorough and continuous review of complex foreign and domestic intelligence information and other threat-related information and prepares documentation as needed which serves as a basis for decision-making regarding the adequacy of current NRC safeguards requirements, emergency response options, or other recommendations.4. Interfaces with other government agencies and industry nationwide to maintain awareness of latest theories, concepts and developments of intelligence analysis technology and its impact on existing or proposed NRC safeguards threat intelligence programs.5. Maintains and controls access or oversees maintenance and control to Region IV Sensitive Compartmenting Information (SCI) facilities.6. Maintains or enhances personal knowledge and skills in assigned areas of responsibility and seeks additional training opportunities in order to enhance career opportunities and value to the Agency.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.   SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as: knowledge and understanding of intelligence analysis and threat assessment processes and systems to independently evaluate intelligence and accurately assess potential threats in a timely manner. And highly developed analytical and communication skills.The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:1. Knowledge of national information/intelligence security policies, directives, and procedures.2. Knowledge of analytical techniques and methods and systems required to select and assemble intelligence information into comprehensive briefing products.3. Knowledge of the capabilities, roles and responsibilities of the Intelligence Community and federal law enforcement agencies regarding counterintelligence, and nuclear proliferation, including experience in directly interacting with the Intelligence Community to resolve counterintelligence or insider threat concerns.4. Knowledge and demonstrated experience relating to intelligence analysis activities, involving foreign intelligence threats, or experience in conducting time-sensitive, single-topic analyses.5. Ability to communicate and present technical information clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
