About the Position: The primary purpose of this job is to: perform background investigations, ensure compliance as the Physical Security Specialist, and to serve as the Brigade Key control custodian.
Duties
Serves as the alternate Brigade Security Manager.
Responsible for the implementation of physical security, document security, and personnel security programs in the 194th.
Interprets and develops general policy direction for security applications on a Brigade wide basis.
Ensures compliance with established security related directives.
Conducts oversight reviews on the effectiveness of Physical Security programs within the subordinate battalions and Brigade activities and coordinates appropriately with Installation DES Physical Security Officer.
Operates a computer utilizing TRMSS database software which permits creation, formatting, modification, and printing of textual documents pertaining to installation training support requirements.
Inputs/retrieves, develops, and manipulates data to produce charts, graphs, and other statistical data, and updates information/data pertaining to TRMSSS.
Prepares reports, charts, briefing slides and a variety of documents. Uses operator's manual and/or local office's procedures.
Advises the S-2/3 Officer, DCO and Brigade Commander on all matters pertaining to Security.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position may require overtime, night, weekend, and/or holiday work and may require the incumbent to work alternate or flexible work schedules in support of cyclic training schedules.
- This position is required to work "on-call status" and may be called back to work in an emergency situation such as accidents, firing-related incidents and training injuries.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in implementing security programs, key control, document control and security clearance procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcement.
