About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and child care available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost. Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities.

Duties

Determine availability of manpower for meeting deadlines of assigned projects. Plan, coordinate, and direct a variety of related work operations or functions of subordinate employees. Ensure that appropriate production reports and administrative records are maintained. Promote efficient and economical work operations.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Temporary Duty Travel, TDY may be required up to 25% of the time.
• Position may be converted to permanent without further competition.
• Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years.
• Temporary reassignment may be made or extended at management discretion.
• Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
• A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Ability to perform common Powered Support Systems Mechanic Supervisor duties including explaining the proper procedures, protocols, or processes that is required for work direction of employees. I can demonstrate how to interpret guides such as blueprints, sketches, and technical manuals to perform functions of parts or systems; provide quality control review on performed repairs on powered support equipment for organizations; and illustrate troubleshooting analysis to diagnose malfunctions.
