Duties

Analyze and evaluate procedural documentation for quality assurance programs. Ensure quality assurance systems and product management are running smoothly. Provide instructions, advice and training to ensure command objectives, programs and projects are understood. Advocate as a liaison between the Aviation Field Maintenance Directorate, the Contractor and all supported units. Communicate with personnel (military, civilian, and contractor) in the safe and proper repair of aircraft and to prepare various reports, evaluations, and recommendations. Manage production, quality and execution aspects of field maintenance and systems modification work order (MWO) programs on all aircraft and related aircraft components. Monitor contract maintenance operations and procedures to include maintenance management specifics/workload, surveillance techniques and flight operations for accountability. Develop and implement quality assurance plans based on the technical requirements for complete assemblies and sub-assemblies for aircraft products having complex characteristics.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a deployment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
  • Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest.
  • This position is subject to a mobility or rotation agreement as a condition of employment. You will be required to relocate based on management needs for the duration of employment in this or successor positions.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
  • Incumbent must obtain and retain a valid vehicle operator's license as required by the OCONUS Country of assignment.
  • Incumbent may be required to ride as a passenger of Army Rotary-wing Aircraft (Utility and Cargo).

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing and evaluating procedural documentation for quality assurance programs to meet mission responsibilities using, maintenance, repair, testing and inspection of Army rotary-wing aircraft and associated components; skillfully providing resolution of complex quality problems relating to aviation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above]). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
