This position is located at the in the Property & Supply Department, Colorado River Service Unit, Parker, AZ. The incumbent has responsibilities for Inventory Management Specialist by performing a variety of routine technical duties associated with property and supply for the service unit. This position reports to Supply Department Supervisor.

Duties

Major Duties: Review, evaluate and make recommendations regarding development of policies, methods, strategies and effectiveness of the Inventory Management Program. Altering inventory and stock levels as supply and equipment demand increases or need diminishes. Manages the lifecycle of expendable and non-expendable assets in the Colorado River Service Unit. Corresponds with procurement officials, vendors, project engineers and other stakeholders. Exercises Ordering Officer Authority in determining the best value and contract sourcing.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-9: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Utilizing database management programs, managing organizational inventory, and using property policies, regulations, and directives; providing property support for health and/or administrative programs; ordering equipment; maintaining accountable records; trace acquisition sources and methods; resolve problems with timely deliveries; and arrange for disposal of surplus and excess property and stock levels. OR Education: Completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years (36 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR Combination of education and specialized experience: Qualifying combination of the specialized experience described above. To determine if you qualify under this combination first divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond 1 year by 18. (Note: Only education in excess of the first year is creditable toward meeting the experience requirement when combining experience and education.) Finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Note: You must provide copies of your graduate transcripts. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: conducting inventory management reviews and completing appropriate forms and reports for completeness and accuracy; review personal property management protocols to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies and areas potentially requiring accountability, effectiveness and compliance with policies, regulations, and operating procedures; determining actions to be taken, interpreting, conducing, and implementing personal property management procedures; and monitoring personal property management systems. OR Education: Completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years (54 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work or LL.M., if related. OR Combination of education and specialized experience: Qualifying combination of the specialized experience described above. To determine if you qualify under this combination first divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond 2 years by 18. (Note: Only education in excess of the second year is creditable toward meeting the experience requirement when combining experience and education.) Finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Note: You must provide copies of your graduate transcripts. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
