The primary purpose of these positions is to develop plans, processes, preparations, and activities to ensure logistics and sustainment needs are met for nuclear surety stakeholders. As a key member of this incredible but small team, you will directly collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across the DoD, DOE, and industry to ensure program success and supportability of new, existing and emerging security and surety capabilities that are vital U.S. nuclear weapons deployed in the field around the world. You will plan, coordinate and evaluate logistical actions in support of the Division's mission. You will be supporting the activities of DoD funded and DoD/DOE jointly funded acquisition efforts to provide the U.S. and NATO allies with highly-capable and robust systems to protect America's nuclear arsenal overseas.
Candidates should have an advanced understanding of the cradle-to-grave life cycle logistics support required to support nuclear systems or subsystems, demonstrated experience in communicating and working effectively with multiple levels within DoD from installation to Major Command (MAJCOM).
DUTIES:
Effectively plan, manage, monitor and coordinate cradle-to-grave life cycle logistics support for assigned nuclear surety and security systems and subsystems using Life Cycle Logistics (LCL) expertise.
Lead activities either directly executing or supporting DoD acquisition/sustainment efforts, to include DSOR/SORA processes, and orchestrating program integration activities across multiple government agencies.
Effectively plan, manage, monitor and coordinate support for assigned nuclear systems and subsystems with focus on nuclear surety, warfighter requirements and cost efficiencies.
Develop and coordinate effective Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) plans, Life Cycle Support Plans (LCSP), roadmaps and milestones concerning logistics and related economic impacts.
This position provides logistics management and logistical support to multi-functional teams. The candidate is expected to perform independently, responding to frequent short deadlines, to ensure program logistics issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Interactions with internal and external officials and/or customers are usually diplomatic, convincing, professional, and promote effective working relationships.
Effectively communicate with personnel from the Departments of Energy and Defense, Air Force Air Staff, MAJCOM Staff, AFNWC Staff/Wings/Divisions, field level users and their respective support agencies as well as NATO host nation operational units.
Effectively provide briefings and keep program participants informed on program plans.
Ensure participation and outcomes of special projects result in positive impact(s) on the organization and/or improves quality.
Prepare reports on time, neat and high quality for Air Force senior leaders. Include recommendations, meaningful program information, written summaries and results from synthesized data and/or metric analysis.
SKILLS:
Expert knowledge of system life cycle concepts, theories and principles of ILS planning, development, design and execution sufficient to coordinate and integrate functions into a total, well-structured and viable sustainment program.
Experience in a DoD system program office or sustainment center highly desired.
Familiarity with laws, policies, regulations and precedents applicable to ILS planning.
Ability to interpret logistics and related policies and apply them in acquisition and sustainment processes through authoring, coordinating and executing program plans and processes.
Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is highly desired.

- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance of Top Secret or Top Secret with SCI depending on the position. A current TS is highly desired.
- Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
- This position may require travel.
- Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall.
- Incumbent may be required to report to work during base exercises, contingencies, or emergency situations and overtime/comp time/credit hours may be required to accomplish assigned duties.
- This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). Work requires the appropriate certification and must be obtained within 24 months of employment.
- Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment approximately 30 days per year.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Advanced knowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition logistics and sustainment processes, Integrated Product Support (IPS), and related Life Cycle Logistics (LCL) initiatives.
2. Ability to plan, organize, direct, mentor, motivate and appraise a diverse government and contractor team to meet program(s) and organizational objectives.
3. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DOD, Air Force,
and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition and sustainment processes.
4. Skill to plan, organize, and lead a team of logistics professionals in executing critical aspects of all phases of the system life cycle to include development and production, fielding, sustainment, and demilitarization.
5. Knowledge in product support management, sustaining engineering, maintenance planning, supply support, technical data, support equipment, and packaging, handling, storage, and transportation.
