The purpose of this position to support the Staff Judge Advocate, providing legal support for the most complex, often precedent, installation level cases in military justice, operational, contract, labor, international, environmental, and administrative law claims to the units. To support Air Force interests, support litigation and provide legal assistance to eligibles.
Duties
Perform administrative, clerical, managerial, and executive support of the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, and its leadership.
Provide assistance to the legal assistance program as needed or other duties in support of the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate.
Brief incoming personnel on services provided. Briefs deploying personnel on legal assistance matters to ensure mission readiness.
Provide support for military justice and adverse actions as needed.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialize experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Clerical and Administrative Support Positions,
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include preparing monthly and annual reports by tracking, assembling, and analyzing statistics and inputs. Assists with substantive review and preparation of actions/responses relating to military and civilian personnel matters, including but not limited to labor and employment law disputes and litigation. Perform resource management activities involving budgetary planning and execution and acquisition and inventorying of office equipment. Develop findings, recommendations, and justifications concerning Office of Staff Judge Advocate (OSJA) courses of action. Manage designs, develops, upgrades, installs, and maintains office automation systems, including hardware, software, and voice mail communications systems for the Law Center. Maintain and serve as administrator for Local Area Network (LAN) and jukebox server for data storage.
OR EDUCATION: 4 years above high school leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge and skill in fact finding, problem analysis, problem solving, writing, interpreting regulations and policies, and a practical understanding of the activities and substantive mission of the organization, sufficient to assist in both completion of substantive tasks and routing of individuals and taskings to relevant team members for completion.
Practical knowledge of, and skill in interpreting and applying, and explaining to others the application of, basic legal principles and concepts, legal research methods, and data analysis techniques to perform independently recurring assignments.
Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methods of legal research and reference sources such as agency manuals, directives, issuances, court reports, appellate records, or commercial legal publications sufficient to locate appropriate data such as applicable precedents, legislative history, and commentaries which bear on particular legal issues.
Knowledge of legal techniques and skills necessary to analyze both issues of fact and issues of law in order to prepare digests of case decisions, evaluate the applicability of precedents, or to draft briefs, other litigation papers, advisory opinions, or findings.
Knowledge of formal or informal rules of evidence and skill necessary to evaluate the adequacy and/or admissibility of evidence, to request additional data or further investigation, when needed, or to develop narrative or graphic exhibits to support specified legal arguments.
Knowledge of and practical skill in various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations to manage preliminary assessment, assignment, and completion of taskings and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
