About the Position: Serves as DCS-G1 Staff Action Control Specialist with HQDA Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff Office of the G1 located at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.

Duties

Provides, guidance, advice and decision support to leadership. Recognizes emergent problems and either takes action to rectify or alerts appropriate agency. Managing, reviewing and providing recommendations on staff actions for key programs and issues relating to DCS G-1's overall mission. Provides oversight to a variety of policy and program staff actions that are characterized by unique requirements. Receives, reviews, and conducts analyses of all incoming staff actions and decision correspondence. Establishes priority of actions based on the sensitivity of the subject matter, suspense dates and other pertinent data. Reviews, prioritizes, tasks and monitors all staff actions. Alerts leadership to actions that could become issues which might adversely impact on Army military/ civilian personnel policies. Serves as the Program Manager for the automated HQDA Enterprise Task Management Solution System for the organization. Determine the nature and format of response and staff actions and to make initial recommendations on those responses. Develops local policy and implementing instructions, provides authoritative interpretations and guidance to management officials and other DCS G-1 personnel involved in the preparation of staff actions at all levels. Resolving issues that involve conflicting staffing or coordination requirements.

GS-13 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes with all phases of staff actions such as, analysis, ascertaining timelines for response, determining required coordination procedures, initial determination of responsibility for response preparation and/or preparation of deliverables, required to fulfill organizational mission; determining the nature and format of response of staff actions to recommendation alternative solutions to issues; ensuring full coordination of staff actions by completing final editing of documents before submission; developing local policy and implementing instructions to provide authoritative interpretations and guidance to leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). GS-14 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting advising leadership on a variety of technical and administrative matters; reviewing and prioritizing tasks to monitor all staff actions for multiple directorates; assisting military and civilian action officers as required to expedite the completion of the staffing process; providing oversight to a variety of unique requirements staff actions that demand continuous oversight to provide administrative direction and/or coordination for all actions and correspondence; and providing recommendations on staff actions for key programs and issues relating to the organization's overall mission. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Management may select at any of the grade levels announced. This recruitment provides promotion opportunity to the target grade of the position without further competition when selectee is eligible and recommended by management. Duties described reflect the full performance GS-14 level. If not selected at the full performance, duties will be performed in a developmental capacity under close supervision.
