The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Beverage and Catering Manager, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to Club Altus. The incumbent will organize, develop programs, plan and supervise the daily catering activities of this operation.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of Club Altus Beverage and Catering operations, ensuring that Club Altus complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents the 97th Force Support Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Responsible for the effective management of the resources for the Catering Program to insure financial goals are met.
Assists the Club Manager in the economical and efficient operation of the club.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodology used in basic business and industrial management particularly in regard to beverage service management and/or catering; skill in applying the full range of principles, concepts, and practices of food and/or beverage management operations sufficient to perform moderately difficult assignments.

EDUCATION: Applicant has successfully completed one full academic year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position; or is claiming Superior Academic Achievement. COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Applicant has less than the full amount of specialized experience described in the job opportunity announcement; however, has completed some graduate-level education which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. Therefore, has a combination of experience and education. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of Air Force, DoD, and Air Education and Training Command policies, procedures, and general business practice related to management planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating food and beverage services.
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Requires continuing ability to deal effectively with all individuals and communicating in a professional, courteous manner with customers and employees.
Must have responsible experience related to catering management or hospitality services. Experience must have included planning, organizing, and taking responsibility for services provided. Such experience may have been acquired as a manager/supervisor of a function in a full service food establishment or hotel/motel.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
