About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is with NETCOM/9th Signal Command, 59th Signal Battalion, HHD S-2 Security (Business Division 2) located at Fort Richardson, AK.

Duties

Assist Security Manager in administering the Personnel, Physical, Information, AT/FP Security Programs for the 59th Signal Battalion. Utilize desktop computer and automated systems and applications. Serve as Key Control Officer of the Battalions Key Control Program. Assist Security Manager with physical security inspections, assessments, and surveys for local activities. Administer the security identification program for all in and out-processing personnel assigned to the 59th Signal Battalion areas. Review security clearance applications on all personnel. Develop and present the appropriate training. Ensure inventory and program maintenance requirements.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial period may be required.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Designated Key Position: This position has been identified as being a Key Position under the provisions of AR 690-11, Use and Management of Civilian Personnel in Support of Military Contingency Operations.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain AT/FP Level II certification.
