This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & MRTFB in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Watervliet Arsenal is an Army-owned & operated manufacturing center located in NY.

Duties

Prepare work orders based on manufacturing schedules developed to meet customer requirements for production, research and development, commercial and support mission items. Manages a number of drawing number line items and production programs setting production and shipment schedules. Maintains control of assigned research and development prototype items, including monitoring production schedules, container schedules and shipping requirements. Devises and implements new methods and procedures to increase the effectiveness of the arsenal's production control program to meet changing requirements which arise in coordinating efforts for all mission/non-mission and prototype items. Organizes, compiles, and makes arrangements for work to be accomplished by contract in coordination with the planning and procurement organizations. Reviews requirements on master schedules using a material resource planning software. Determines actions needed to meet manufacturing schedule and end item delivery to the customers.

• The incumbent must meet all requirements for DATACL1i - TACOM D and A Level 1 Certification Requirement within 12 months of being placed on the position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Collecting, compiling and/or maintaining data;(2) Reviewing and/or distributing production, work, and/or schedules; and (3) Creating reports on progress of work such as: inventory levels, costs, and production problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Time in Grade Requirement for GS-07 level: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the GS-05 grade or equivalent.
