You will serve as a PIPEFITTER WORKER in the PRODUCTION DIVISION, UTILITY & ENERGY SHIP TO SHORE MECHANICAL of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will perform installation, repair, and replacement of standard equipment in piping systems.
You will prepare bad hoses for salvage and good hoses for future use.
You will be required to operate a step van and a one-ton stake truck with hose reel and air compressor installed.
You will assist in cleaning up sewage spills.
Requirements

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: 1) Performs full range of high-level pipefitting, installs and repairs various high-pressure steam, air, and water piping systems. 2) Works from blueprints, sketches, plans, or other specifications to plan, layout and fabricate piping systems. 3) Installs and repairs pumps, valves, pressure regulators, heat exchangers in high pressure systems. 4) Has skills and ability to use threaders, cutters, grinders brazing equipment and hydrostatic equipment. 5) Works with no or very little supervision. 6) Estimates labor and material for projects and work as lead mechanic on projects. 7) Performs Plumbing task as needed, such as potable water supply systems, disposal systems, sewage systems and lines, plumbing fixtures, water heaters and showers.
